This is the club car on The Canadian. It's the second time made the trip between Vancouver and Toronto and my recommendation would be to make it during the winter. The trains are uncrowded, giving you the opportunity to get to know the friendly staff and use the all amenities whenever you like.

Literary suggestion... [Feb. 26th, 2007|01:54 am]

Hi guys!

I know this community has pretty much been dead for awhile.
There are so many images I should've posted here that only made it
onto my blog.

But today, I come with different purpose altogether; to recommend to
y'all a book that's a must-own for any fan of ViaRail.

I found mine at a 2nd hand bookstore in new condition.

It's called Canadian Rail Travel Guide by Daryl T. Adair and it
documents "mile-by-mile (of track) descriptions of points of interest,
locations of communities along the way and overviews of destination
attractions".

It does this for every major train in Canada including not just Via's but
the Rocky Mountaineer, the Royal Canadian Pacific, etc...

From the back cover:
-More than 130 colour maps and photographs
-"Photo Alerts" tell the traveller about scenic photography opportunities.
-Vivid descriptions of the scenery, historic sights, wildlife.

Anyone here who rides the trains regularly would definately enjoy it!

On a Sunday, you'll find some of our cities busiest stations nearly deserted.
It's a far cry from the crowded weekdays, when hoards of passengers flock here
to catch their train.
